Meet the Administrative Team at Faith Academy 

Mark Earwood, Administrator

Mark Earwood has been the Administrator at Faith Academy since 2009.  He began his career at Faith Academy in 2000, serving as a classroom teacher and later as the school's first Athletic Director and Spiritual Life Director.  Mark is a 1986 graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University and spent 10 years in Marketing and Operations Management in the natural gas utility industry prior to making the move to Education.  In addition to his administrative duties, Mark is also a published author and public speaker.  He and his wife Laura have three sons:  Ryan, a 2008 graduate of Faith Academy who currently attends the University of Texas at Austin, Cyle, a 2011 graduate of Faith Academy, and Mitch who is currently a 10th grader at Faith.  You may reach Mr. Earwood at mearwood@famf.org

Jessie Crow, Athletic Director

Jessie Crow was born and raised in Burnet, Texas. After graduating as class salutatorian from high school, he continued his education at Abilene Christian University where he graduated magna cum laude with his Bachelor of Science in Education and also completed his Master of Education.  A total of 37 years followed in public education coaching and/or school sports administration, before coming to Faith Academy.  During this time, Jessie and Becky, his wife, raised two children that have blessed him with four grandchildren.  “Grumpy” was enjoying spending his retired life with his wife and grandkids, but was excited to change life styles and have the opportunity to help build an athletic program in such a Christian setting.You may reach Coach at jcrow@famf.org

Rick Blackington, Spiritual Life Director

Rick Blackington first came to Faith Academy in 2010 as a parent, and is now serving as the Spiritual Life Director. Rick attended Hardin-Simmons University, and received a Bachelor’s degree in Bible. Rick began serving as a
youth pastor in 1991 and has continued to work with teenagers and parents since then.  As a son of our Heavenly Father, Rick desires to see others come into their true identity so that their destiny can be fulfilled and the glory of our Father can be seen and experienced by all creation.  He and his wife, Toni, have three children at Faith Academy: Malachi, Elijah, and Abigail, who is not allowed to get any older. Suzanne Brown, Academic Counselor

Suzanne Brown grew up in Seguin, Texas and graduated from The University of Texas with a degree in public relations.  Suzanne has been involved with Faith Academy since its founding, serving on the academic, hospitality and athletic committees and volunteering as the Athletic Assistant to Mark Earwood.  She enjoyed her daughter's college application process so much that when the job of Academic Counselor opened, Suzanne jumped at the opportunity to do what she loves—helping kids!  Suzanne takes a personal interest in the goals and dreams of each student and uses her remarkable PR skills to both inspire and challenge Faith's potential graduates to aspire higher than they think they can reach.  Suzanne and her husband Dale have one daughter, Bailey, a Faith graduate and in her 4th year at Texas A&M.  The Browns attend the Methodist Church where Suzanne has kept busy for 22 years working with Kids Church, VBS, Sunday School, worship and finance committees, and her favorite activity—GREETING!  You may reach Suzanne at sbrown@famf.org

Terri Sellers, Secondary Math and Social Studies Supervisor

Terri Sellers received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from Baylor University.  She has taught at Baylor and Southwest Missouri State University as well as worked in the media industry for award winning production companies in Houston as well as the military.  Terri came to Faith Academy to teach in the math department in 2000.  She has worked with students both in the classroom and through youth groups and team sports.  She joined the Administrative team as a supervisor over the Secondary Math and Secondary Social studies departments as well as helping coordinate student activities, girl’s leadership trips, and educational trips to Europe.  Terri is married to Jeff Sellers and has a son and a daughter: Austin, a cadet at the US Air Force Academy, and Casey a student at Faith Academy and a member of the cheer team.  Terri Sellers may be contacted at 830-798-1333

Elizabeth Vaughn – Secondary Technology and Science Supervisor

Elizabeth is a Cum Laude graduate of Rice University in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.  She was one of Compaq Computer's early employees and designed several best selling computers as well as managed software design teams.  After marrying her husband Darrell in 1991, she moved to Dallas and worked with him at Automated Circuit Design and later at RouTech, where she supervised IT and was Chief Architect for a scientific programming venture.  She has two children, Taylor, a freshman at Rice, and Reagan who is a sophomore at Faith.  For fun, she likes to build or fix things with her father John Gurley, who is a retired NASA rocket scientist.   Elizabeth also runs sound at Lake Shores Church.  You may contact Elizabeth at evaughn@famf.org 

Robin Tollett, Elementary Department Supervisor

Robin Tollett began her career in education at Baylor University. She was a special educator in the public schools for 15 years at all grade levels. During a break from public school teaching, she served as a Kindergarten teacher for two years in Hondo, TX at a christian private school. Upon leaving the public school arena, she tutored for a few years before  coming to Faith Academy to teach English and History to 3rd and 5th graders. Faith Academy made the decision to open the classes of Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd in the fall of 2009. Mrs.Tollett was thrilled to have the opportunity to teach all subjects in a contained 2nd grade classroom and be given the responsibility of pulling together the curriculum for the new Faith Academy 2nd grade class. This fall, she also took on the newly created postition of Elementary Department Supervisor. She and her husband, Tommy, own Tom's Aircraft Etc... in Sunrise Beach, TX. Tricia Frantz, Elementary Department Coordinator 

Tricia Frantz started at Faith Academy in 2003 as a parent and began teaching at Faith in 2004. Tricia is the
3rd – 6th grade Academic Supervisor as well as the Learning Center Supervisor.  Tricia has taught from kindergarten through twelfth grade here at Faith and is currently the 5th grade math teacher and the Learning Center teacher. Tricia studied elementary education at Sam Houston State University and has continued to pursue education as a career.  Tricia was the director at a private school in Houston until she decided to homeschool her children. Tricia has two daughters, both graduates of Faith Academy. Nicole (2008 graduate) will graduate  in May from Texas Tech with a degree in civil engineering. Kim Hansard, Administrative Assistant

Kim Hansard first came to Faith Academy in 2005, bringing with her an amazing gift of administration and organization.  She can multi-task like no other.  Mrs. Hansard is a 1999 graduate of Texas State University and spent 7 years in Sales and Marketing and Wedding and Event Planning prior to God directing her to serve at Faith Academy.  She and her husband, J.D. have one son, Cooper who currently attends pre-school and is a future Faith Academy Flame.  You may reach Mrs. Hansard at khansard@famf.org.

Patti Henderson, Academic Assistant/Elem Art Teacher

Patti Henderson has been at Faith Academy since its inception in 1999.  She serves full-time as Academic Assistant and continues to teach art to the Elementary students.  Ms. Henderson and her late husband have six grown children, two of which graduated from Faith Academy in 2003 and in 2006. Juley Metcalf, Assistant to the Athletic Director

Juley Metcalf, our Athletic Assistant, has three children that attend school at Faith Academy.  After attending Texas A&M, Juley was a stay-at-home mom for over a decade.  She now puts her drill-team skills to use as she helps out coaches and players with various sports offered at our school.   She is also the sponsor for the “Faith Angels,” our student-led spirit group, and enjoys helping at retreats for high-school age students.   Juley feels that it is a blessing to be able to serve in a Christian environment, and to put the mission statement, “Know, Grow, Go,” to use in a practical way.  You may reach Juley at jmetcalf@famf.org.
